International Tienshan Forum on Economic Cooperation in Central Asia

On December 2, 2025, the Tienshan Forum on Economic Cooperation in Central Asia was held in Urumqi, China, under the theme “Unleashing the Potential of Connections and Investment in Central Asia.”

The event was attended by representatives of relevant Chinese government agencies, political, business, and academic circles from 10 countries, including Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

In his speech at the thematic section on Central Asia, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization T.R. Midhun spoke about the SCO’s activities in investment. It was noted that the SCO possesses enormous potential for cooperation in this area, with its natural resource reserves, technological capabilities, and abundant human capital being valuable assets.

On the sidelines of the event, T.R. Midhun held a working meeting with Andrey Shirokov, Managing Director of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development. During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of possible cooperation between the two structures.
