On January 27, 2026, the first meeting of the Council of National Coordinators (CNC) of the SCO Member States this year, chaired by Kyrgyzstan, began at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Beijing.

The meeting is being held with the participation of representatives of ten member states, the Secretariat, and the Executive Committee (EC) of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure (RATS). SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev delivered a welcoming address at the opening of the event.

The meeting is scheduled to discuss preparations for high-level and summit events within the SCO in 2026. Current issues related to the Organization’s activities in political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and other spheres were highlighted. The development of its international relations and the implementation of agreements reached by the heads of state and government of the SCO member states were also addressed.
