On January 31, in the city of Dushanbe, at the SCO Friendship and Cooperation Center in Tajikistan, a round table was held on the topic “The SCO in a Changing World: On the Way to the New Delhi Summit”, dedicated to the chairmanship of the Republic of India in the Organization.

Alimov, Head of the SCO Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, R. Sultoni, Ambassadors of Member States and Observer States, Secretary General of the SCO Committee on Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, Director of the SCO Public Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan, First Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly and Chairman of the Youth platforms for the SCO countries SCOLAR Network.
An interested exchange of views took place on the place and role of the SCO in the changing world. It was noted that against the background of the crisis in international relations, the SCO remains not only an attractive model of cooperation, but also acts as a generator of important initiatives related to strengthening international cooperation, ensuring security and sustainable development of partner states that share the values of the “Shanghai spirit”.
The participants of the round table noted with satisfaction that the active preparation for the meeting of the CHS in New Delhi confirms the commitment of the member states of the Organization to create additional conditions aimed at strengthening collective capabilities for ensuring security in the SCO space, countering the threats of the “three evils” and drug trafficking and shared prosperity. It was agreed that the forthcoming SCO Summit in India would be successful and would lead the Organization into a new orbit of cooperation.
On February 2-3, 2023, a meeting of the Permanent Representatives of the SCO member states was held at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization under the chairmanship of the Indian side, the press service of the organization reports.
During the event, draft memorandums of understanding between the SCO Secretariat and partner international organizations were considered in detail.
The next meeting of the Permanent Representatives will be held on March 9-10, 2023, within the framework of which it is planned to consider the Plan of the main SCO events for 2023.
On February 3, the SCO Secretariat also hosted a briefing by SCO Deputy Secretary General Sh.G. Collections for permanent representatives of the SCO member states.
During the meeting, topical issues of the current activities of the Organization were discussed.
