On January 19, 2026, Akhmad Saidmurodzoda, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, visited the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) in Singapore as part of the “SCO Talks” project.
During the visit, a meeting was held with Lawrence Anderson, a leading RSIS expert and former Singapore Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Cambodia, and Daniel Balazs, a research fellow at RSIS and a member of the Institute for Defense and Strategic Studies.
During the discussion, Saidmurodzoda presented detailed information on the formation and evolution of the SCO, the key outcomes of the 2025 Tianjin Summit, the unified assessments of member states on security issues, and the Organization’s international relations. A lively exchange of views took place, during which the Deputy Secretary General answered questions posed by RSIS representatives.
The parties agreed to maintain working contacts between the SCO Secretariat and RSIS.
