The SCO Secretary General visited the photo exhibition The Far East Final. End of World War II

On September 2, on the eve of the end of World War II, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming took part in the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition “Far Eastern Final. The End of World War II, prepared by the Russian Embassy in China together with the Central Museum of the Russian Armed Forces, the organization’s Telegram channel reports.

The presented photographs, posters, copies of documents tell about the history of the liberation of the northeastern regions of China by the Soviet troops from the Japanese aggressors, the defeat of the main forces of the Japanese Kwantung Army.

The photo exhibition was launched at the Jintai Gallery in Beijing’s Chaoyang Park.

The event participants also laid flowers at the Soviet Falcon sculpture dedicated to the Soviet volunteer pilots who took part in the Chinese people’s national liberation war against the Japanese invaders in 1937-1941. In total, in those years, 2,500 pilots and technicians arrived in China from the USSR, who wished to help the Chinese people in the struggle for freedom and independence, of which more than 200 soldiers and officers died.
