According to Zhang Hanhui, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Russia, amid the spread of the epidemic and the deep recession in the world economy, the accelerated stabilization of the Chinese economy has become the biggest positive factor in the global recovery.

China’s Belt and Road Initiative for International Cooperation has demonstrated its strength and resilience, and has played an important role in combating the epidemic, restoring economies and normalizing lives in different countries.

The initiative is the most sought-after emerging international product. One Belt, One Road, being an open and inclusive initiative of economic cooperation, defines economic cooperation as its main direction, and humanitarian exchanges as its most important support.

Its goal is to focus on interconnectedness, deepening business cooperation and striving for mutual benefit and joint development.

The Belt and Road Initiative offers hope in fighting the epidemic and rebuilding the economy. A number of new projects have begun, which have added confidence in the fight against the epidemic and economic recovery in the respective countries. It will become a truly open and mutually beneficial path.

Last June, Chinese President Xi Jinping, during his speech at a video conference on international cooperation at the highest level “One Belt, One Road” put forward a proposal on the need to form from the “One Belt growth. This means that China will continue to maintain open cooperation, mutual benefit and mutual benefit, and encourage Chinese and foreign enterprises in accordance with market norms and the principles of fairness.

Russia is an important partner in the joint creation of One Belt, One Road. Cooperation is steadily developing to link the creation of the “One Belt, One Road” and the EAEU. Russia and China are actively implementing the Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the EAEU and China, which entered into force in October 2019.

The joint creation of this initiative not only opens up new opportunities for economic growth in Russia and China, but also creates a new platform for trade and investment cooperation, as well as provides new opportunities for enhancing humanitarian exchanges.
